2023-2024 Credit Analyst Education Program graduates with LSU and LBA representatives

BATON ROUGE – The LSU Department of Finance and Louisiana Bankers Association (LBA)
are pleased to announce that 17 financial services professionals recently graduated
from the Credit Analyst Education Program (CAEP). The group was celebrated at a ceremony
held at the Lod Cook Alumni Center on July 9.

CAEP aims to meet an industry need by increasing the number of lending professionals
who can underwrite complex commercial credits using a curriculum provided by the American
Bankers Association (ABA). Led by LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business faculty, instruction
focuses on financial statement analysis for presentation to a loan committee and commercial
lending fundamentals, including credit policy and problem loan resolution. Graduates
receive a certificate of completion from LSU and LBA; they are also eligible to test
for the ABA Certificate in Business and Commercial Lending.

“The LSU/LBA Credit Analysis Education Program equipped me with a powerful toolkit
for financial underwriting and business development,” said Kira Yeates, loan assistant
at the Bank of Montgomery (BOM). “Not only has this program been invaluable by expanding
my soft skills related to commercial lending, but my co-workers and customers have
remarked on my increased productivity as well. Now I confidently engage in discussions
about industry specifics, financial analysis, and credit policy.”

This year’s graduates come from a variety of commercial banks and credit unions across
the state.
